D2.1 – Report on analyses of motorcycles accidents databases
This deliverable describes the outcome of the analyses performed on a number of National statistic
databases on motorcycle accidents integrated with the analyses performed on three in-depth motorcycle
accident databases available to the consortium: DEKRA, GIDAS 2002-2003 and MAIDS.

|
D2.2 – Technology evaluation and effectiveness
Each partner makes available to the consortium the status of the art technologies in the field of active, passive and preventive safety in order to realize a comprehensive safety concept vehicle. Although the main safety system selection is implicit in the project consortium definition, a state of the art analysis of safety devices in automotive field is presented, limited to the technologies realistically applicable on a PTW.

D2.3.2 - Blue Book on Motorcycle Overall Safety Strategy
In this deliverable an overview of different aspects of motorcycle safety is provided, describing current
situation of PTW’s use, the critical aspects that need to be improved and the approach adopted to face with
the problem as well as the technological solutions developed in several EU research projects.
In particular, a cooperation with past and on-going projects is established during the project as an input for
the development of a more comprehensive safety strategy for motorcycles.

WP4: PTW Passive Safety |
| Deliverable name |
Dissemination |
D4.1 - Strategy for efficient passive safety solutions
Although the objective of the SIM project is to provide unprecedented motorcycle road safety, making motorcycle road accidents an unlikely, or possibly disappearing, event, it would be not realistic to expect such complete success, at least in the coming years. It is therefore necessary to concentrate efforts in developing and implementing protective systems to reduce the consequences for PTW riders victims of road accidents, both in terms of number and severity of the injuries. The objective of the present report is the establishment of the technical specifications for the passive safety applications that will be implemented on the SIM PTW prototypes.
